Karl Robinson says Chris Solly could be sidelined until the summer.

The first-team captain, who missed today’s draw against Fleetwood, injured his knee in the defeat to Blackpool on Tuesday and was forced off.

He is set to see an orthopaedic knee specialist next week to determine the full extent of the injury.

When asked if he feared the worst over the injury, Robinson told News Shopper: “Yeah. There is a piece of bone in his knee.

“He said he felt something flicking and catching. It’s whether they can go in and take that piece out or whether you drill into it and make it more stable.

“Depending on what the surgeon thinks is best, it will determine the time length. If it’s just taking things out and cleaning it up then you're talking three to four weeks. If it’s the other, I think he’s out until the summer.

“We’re not specialists in that area, we’ll leave it to Andy Williams who’s the best in the world at that, who works out of London. We trust him with these sort of injuries. We’ll see what he says when Solls sees him.”
