Millwall made it nine home games without defeat as they frustrated promotion hopefuls Derby County at The Den.

Jed Wallace had the game's best chance, but he could only fire straight at Scott Carson from the edge of the box when it opened up for him.

Derby thought they had won it late on, but Ikechi Anya was judged to be in an offside position when he slotted home.

Neil Harris made seven changes from the side that drew with Rochdale in the FA Cup on Saturday with only Jake Cooper, Shane Ferguson, Wallace and Tom Elliott retaining their places in the starting 11.

Despite early Derby possession it was Millwall who had the first chance of the game. Cooper’s long pass was knocked down by Lee Gregory into the path of Elliott, but his powerful volley was straight at Carson, who collected at the second time of asking.

Derby came close to scoring on 20 minutes, but Shaun Hutchinson came to Millwall’s rescue as he made a goal-saving block to deny Matej Vydra from close-range after Jordan Archer had parried Andreas Weimann’s cross into his path.

Minutes later The Lions seemed to be denied a certain penalty as Tom Huddlestone caught Gregory in the face when going for a cross, but nothing was given. Neil Harris and his coaching staff were furious on the touchline.

It was the visitors that applied all the early pressure in the second-half, but a flurry of corners was the closest they came to breaking the deadlock.

Millwall were playing without the ball for most of the game, however, they came close to taking the lead through Elliott. The big striker fired over Jake Cooper’s knock-down from eight yards.

The Lions were growing into the game and Wallace had a golden chance to snatch a winner, but Carson blocked his powerful effort with his legs from 18 yards after good work from substitute Fred Onyedinma.

The Rams thought they had claimed all three points six minutes from time, but Anya was flagged offside before he swept home.

At the other end, the impressive Hutchinson fired a stinging strike towards the bottom corner, but it stayed out and the score somehow stayed goalless.
