Charlton manager Karl Robinson wants to have more contact with wantaway owner Roland Duchatelet.

The Belgian tycoon is in talks with several interested parties to sell the club to end his four-year spell in English football.

He has put a halt on any permanent incomings this month despite the Addicks occupying a play-off place.

Robinson said: “I haven't [spoken to him]. He sent a text about four weeks ago and I got an email saying about Ricky [Holmes].

“That’s how he manages his business, that’s how he manages me.

“Let me tell you, I’ve known managers that will work with chairmen that every single second of the day the chairman is in the building, on the phone, telling you to do this, do that and some people will say that’s not great. But that’s just the way it is.

“I would like more communication with an owner. I’d like to have that rapport where I can tell you everything and let you have a feel for the place, know who’s working hard for you and who’s not working hard for you, plan for the future, bring this player in, send this one out.

“That’s what I would like. Every manager always wants more but that’s the way it is at the moment. I haven't had any great contact with the owner. I know Richard is speaking to him, I know [head of recruitment] Steve Gallen is because he’s trying to get players and that’s it.”

Charlton have missed out on a number of transfer targets due to ongoing takeover talks.

And Robinson is still in the dark about the club’s future.

He added: “I still don’t know if the takeover’s going to happen in a week or five months. I heard there are people speaking to the owners but that’s all I know.

“We’re in the dark over that. I’ve been told that’s not my job, my job is to manage the team, and everything above me will take care of itself.

“I’d like to know more, obviously. But maybe with me knowing more, people know how honest I am, I’d just tell you, so that’s probably why they don't tell me!”
