Charlton striker Leon Best has been ruled out for up to 12 months with a knee injury.
Best, whose deal runs out at the end of the month, fell awkwardly in the 2-1 defeat to Gillingham last Saturday.
Meanwhile, Jason Pearce has suffered a setback in his recovery from a knee problem. The defender hasn't played since mid-December.
Addicks boss Karl Robinson told News Shopper: “We’ve just had bad news over Besty so it’s not like anything is falling on our toes and we can come to you with great news.
“So it’s not been a good morning. Pearcy has had a setback - he'll be another two weeks. Besty isn't good either - it could be nine to 12 months.
“Jake [Forster-Caskey] will have a scan [on his hamstring injury]. So we’ll just wait and see what comes from that.”
