Charlton boss Karl Robinson is hoping to have Patrick Bauer, Jason Pearce, Jake Forster-Caskey and Leon Best back for the Gillingham clash on New Year's Day.

But Harry Lennon is set to miss out after picking up an injury in the goalless draw with league leaders Wigan on Friday night.

Ben Reeves and Ricky Holmes were on the bench at the DW Stadium as they continue to reach full fitness.

The Addicks have been decimated by injuries during the festive period.

Robinson said: “What we've gone through during the past few weeks, if you took eight players out of Wigan’s team, would you fancy coming here and winning? I bet you would.

“So we’ve had one of the hardest months with injuries. I’m telling you Pearcey, Bauer, Forster-Caskey, Reevesy, Holmes, Besty may just be fit for Gillingham.

“But then they need to get [match] fit and then we’ll see where we go from there.

“Lennon collapsed [against Wigan] - his legs gave way. He will not be fit for Gillingham. Trust me, what his body has just gone through, it’s a very difficult place to be.”
