Karl Robinson still wants to sign another striker despite the arrival of Leon Best.

The former Newcastle frontman joined the Addicks on a two-month deal on Monday and played 70 minutes in the 2-2 draw with Peterborough.

Robinson always planned to bring in two strikers in January - but admits only one could be needed if Best is a hit in SE7.

The Valley boss told News Shopper: “Well when we spoke about signing two strikers, Besty wasn't one of them at that particular time.

“Besty is going to come here and work hard - if he does what it says on the tin, then he’ll maybe be one of the two strikers.

“We still need one, a natural finisher who is going to be bright.

“If we can get the one we want with Josh [Magennis] and Besty, we’ll have as good a strike force as any club in the league.

“I know who I want - he’s about 6ft tall. We spoke to one or two, it’s not down to money, it’s down to one or two other things.

“We’ll just have to wait and see what materialises.”
