Charlton midfielder Ben Reeves is an injury doubt for the Scunthorpe clash this weekend.

Reeves was subbed off at half-time with a hamstring complaint in the Addicks’ 2-1 win over Rochdale on Tuesday evening.

Karl Robinson's attacking options are already limited with injuries to Billy Clarke and Tariqe Fosu.

And when asked about Reeves’ knock, Valley boss Robinson told News Shopper: “We’ll have a little look at that – we’re not too sure.

“He had a tightness in his hamstring yesterday and he just felt it was getting a little bit [worse] and he sort of plays on.

“Listen, I couldn’t afford to send him back out in the second-half and lose him for four weeks because if it goes from a tightness to a minor grade one and ends up to a grade two, it goes from a ten-day injury to a 28, 30, 40-day injury.

“I couldn’t take that risk. If I knew Tariqe was back soon and Clarkey was back in a week, then maybe we’d be able to do that [play Reeves].

“So we have to sometimes plan for the next four games, it’s not always about the one game.

“It was a change [Karlan Ahearne-Grant for Reeves] that we were going to make anyway so it fell into our hands really.”
