Former Real Madrid legend Roberto Carlos has launched a scathing attack on Crystal Palace boss Roy Hodgson.
Hodgson managed Carlos at Inter Milan before selling the Brazilian to Madrid in 1996.
The defender established himself as one of the world’s greatest ever left-backs with the La Liga giants.
But during his one season with Hodgson, Carlos hated playing under the 70-year-old coach.
“Hodgson’s stay at Inter destroyed me,” he told PlanetFootball.
“He played me in midfield and I had to consider that there was a chance that this would ruin my career in the national side.
“It’s not that I did not have a good relationship with Hodgson. It is just that Hodgson doesn’t know much about football.
“When Inter lost in the Uefa Cup final against Schalke in ’96, it was purely because of Hodgson.”
Hodgson has lost his first three league games since replacing Frank de Boer in the Eagles hotseat.
