Bury boss Lee Clark is adamant his side will beat Charlton today.

The Shakers are in the relegation zone and have failed to win a match since the opening day of the season.

Jermaine Beckford, who has missed the last two games with a knee injury, is set to return for the League One strugglers at the Valley. The veteran striker is the club’s top scorer with four goals.

Bury suffered an embarrassing 4-0 cup defeat at home to local rivals Rochdale on Tuesday after Clark made 11 changes to his team.

And the former Birmingham manager insists his decision to rest players for the Charlton clash will pay dividends.

Clark said: “I’m clear in my mind for the Valley, we are going to go there and win. I know that because I have got fresh players.

“I am not at all pleased Bury lost to Rochdale in a local derby.

“But I’m relaxed I have done the right thing to help us get the right result on Saturday.

“I’m clear in my mind in terms of what players we need and how we are going to do it to get our season up and running in terms of wins.

“I am very confident that the lads will deliver a performance and a result.”
