Charlton have signed Rangers striker Joe Dodoo on loan until January.

Dodoo, who came through Leicester’s academy, can operate as a striker or on the wing.

The 22-year-old moved to Rangers last season in a £250k deal and scored five goals. But he is not in Gers boss Pedro Caixinha’s plans.

He will rival Josh Magennis for starting berth, with Lee Novak likely to depart before Charlton’s game at Oldham on Saturday.

Robinson said: “It has been a really pleasing summer for us in terms of the quality we’ve been able to add to the squad and the players we’ve been able to retain.

“I think everyone will have seen the talent some of our new signings have and we still have Mark Marshall and a fully fit Ben Reeves to come back in – two of the best players in the division last season.

“It has been a busy few days and our focus is now very much on Oldham Athletic this weekend.”

Dodoo added: “I’m really pleased to join Charlton. I can’t wait to get started and help the club’s promotion push.”
