Charlton boss Karl Robinson hinted that the club may not make another signing before the transfer window shuts on Thursday.

The Addicks have been trying to bring in a striker and goalkeeper in recent weeks, but have failed with bids for frontmen.

Josh Magennis netted his second goal in as many games as Charlton beat promotion favourites Rotherham 2-0 at the New York Stadium on Saturday.

When asked about his transfer plans, Robinson said: “What do we need? I’m like a fan with this one, give me six more strikers!

“But listen, you know what it’s like. Do we need anything? Probably that quick number nine in case we want to change things.

“We’ve put bids in and we don't think they’re going to get done. We’ve had a right go and gone in really hard and we were as aggressive as we could possibly be and just fell short.

“Maybe they are people who have said no, hopefully we can prove that this should've been the club they should've come to.

“But hopefully for us, we have to use this momentum and move forward - I think people will take note of this result.”

Magennis scored Charlton’s second goal after Patrick Bauer gave the Addicks the lead in the first-half.

Apart from the opening 10 minutes, Charlton never looked troubled by a physical Rotherham side.

Robinson added: “I don’t think they created many chances - it was always going to be what dropped to them.

“We looked very dangerous and we could've picked them off once or twice more. This is going to be a fortress and I'm really glad we've ticked this ground off. It shows how far we've come. And we’ve still got Mark Marshall and Ben Reeves to come back.

“I’m just happy to get our first win away from home this season. I said to Lee Bowyer it would be an average start if we lost, if we drew it would be a good start and if we won it would be a great start. Nine points from four games and arguably, in our best performance, we didn't get anything.”
