Rotherham manager Paul Warne has tipped Charlton for automatic promotion.

The Addicks have made a solid start to their second consecutive season in League One, winning two out of three league games.

The Millers are expected to challenge for a return to the Championship with Saturday’s opponents Charlton.

Warne said: “They have assembled a really good squad and I've watched two of their last games and they've looked the most impressive out of all the teams I've seen.

“We're well aware that Richie Barker [the Addicks’ former assistant coach] knows how Charlton play and I think that they are my tip for automatic promotion this early on.”

Rotherham’s two league defeats have come away from home this season, but they thrashed Southend 5-0 at the New York Stadium.

The Addicks are unbeaten in four games against the Millers, but the Yorkshire side will provide a huge threat with in-form striker Kieffer Moore.

Warne added: “Charlton are the benchmark and although we have had a tricky start to the season, we've competed really well in every game and I'd like to test our wits against them on Saturday and see where we end up.

“They've got really talented footballers and we'll see how they compete against my really talented bunch.

“It's probably two different styles in a nice way and I just hope the lads can perform to their max.”
