Crystal Palace boss Frank de Boer is prepared to sell Andros Townsend.

The Eagles signed the England winger in a £12m deal from Newcastle last summer, and he was an ever-present in the team under Alan Pardew and Sam Allardyce.

But he was left out of the starting line-up for De Boer’s first game in charge against Huddersfield, and only came back in because of an injury to Wilfried Zaha.

The Daily Mail reports that the club could offload Townsend to interested duo Newcastle and Leicester.

De Boer is chasing attacking reinforcements with RB Leipzig winger Oliver Burke and Barcelona’s Munir options.

Speaking after the 1-0 defeat to Liverpool, the Dutchman said: “We are still looking to see if there is real quality to add to our squad. If there is real quality rather than panic buys, we won't hesitate.

“The biggest thing at Liverpool was that we were really concentrated and played as a team. We stuck to what we planned before the game and that is a compliment to the squad.

“I said to them if they play with this kind of intensity and discipline the results will come. To lose 1-0 is very disappointing.”

Jairo Riedewald, a £9m acquisition from Ajax, has been De Boer’s only permanent signing this summer.
