Millwall were left frustrated and remain winless in pre-season after some poor finishing in their stalemate with Stevenage at the Lamex Stadium.

The Lions missed a host of chances against their League Two opponents. Fred Onyedinma and Tom Elliott were the guilty parties. The front two were denied several times by an impressive Joe Fryer in the Stevenage goal.

Onyedinma came closest, striking the inside of the post on the stroke of half-time.

Here is how News Shopper rated Millwall's players

Tom King - 7 - Quiet evening. Commanded his area well and made a sharp block to deny Beautyman midway through the first-half.

Mahlon Romeo - 6 - Gave the ball away a couple of times early on, but gradually grew into the game and linked up well with Wallace and O’Brien to create Millwall’s best chance of the game on the stroke of half-time.

Byron Webster - 6 - Won everything in the air and made a few crucial blocks when called into action.

Sid Nelson - 6 - Just like Webster, faultless in the air, used his strength well and was rarely troubled.

Tony Craig - 5 - Linked up well with O’Brien down the left-hand side, but when given space to deliver, his crossing let him down. Struggled defensively.

Jed Wallace - 8 - Direct. Whenever he found space he tested the Stevenage defence. A constant threat all evening. His most notable contribution was a mazy run, nutmeg and through ball that found Onyedinma, who was fouled just outside the box. Man of the match.

George Saville - 6 - Tidy in possession, but didn’t have enough of the ball to influence the game. Came close to scoring just before the break as his free-kick went narrowly over.

Ben Thompson - 5 - Wasteful in possession, struggled to get into the game. Failed to impress.

Aiden O’Brien - 6 - Looked bright and used his trickery to create an early opening for himself which was tipped round the post. Did not see as much of the ball as he would have liked.

Fred Onyedinma - 6 - Looked desperate to impress and as a result was frustrated. Gave away two clumsy free-kicks early on. He had two golden chances, but his tame left foot effort was beaten away from a tight angle by Fryer and struck the post on the stroke of half-time.

Tom Elliott - 6 - Held it up well and was lethal in the air. Should have helped himself to at least one goal, if it was not for some poor finishing. Had several opportunities, most notably just after the break, but his header was tipped over.
