Crystal Palace look set to miss out on Jacob Murphy and Mamadou Sakho.

Murphy’s representatives are travelling to Newcastle to finalise a deal which could reach up to £16m.

And Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp hinted that Sakho, who spent the second half of last season on loan at Palace, does have a future with the Reds.

The France defender’s Anfield career appeared to be over following a bust-up with Klopp on their pre-season tour last summer.

But speaking after Liverpool's 4-0 win over Tranmere on Wednesday, the German coach said: “First of all he needs to get 100 per cent fit and then we will see.”

With Murphy expected to join Newcastle and the possibility of Sakho staying put at Liverpool, it will come as a double transfer blow for Frank de Boer.

Murphy scored 10 goals for Norwich in the Championship last term, which put the England Under-21 international on Palace’s radar, while Sakho shored up a leaky Eagles defence as the team kept four clean sheets in his eight games.

But the former Paris Saint-Germain star's season ended prematurely due to a nasty knee injury sustained against Tottenham in April.

Even if Klopp does decide to axe Sakho, Palace will still need to cough up £30m to bring him back to Selhurst Park.
