Manchester United sent scouts to monitor Everton duo Romelu Lukaku and Seamus Coleman against Crystal Palace, according to reports.

Jose Mourinho’s Red Devils, sixth in the Premier League after seven games, are already turning their attentions to the January transfer window.

And the Daily Star say the club are tracking the progress of Belgium striker Lukaku and 28-year-old right-back Coleman.

Lukaku worked with Mourinho at Chelsea but has improved drastically since arriving at Everton in July 2014.

The 23-year-old has 33 goals in 79 league games and already has eight to his tally this season – including a quick-fire hat-trick against Sunderland.

Lukaku provided Everton with a first-half lead against Palace last month, but Alan Pardew’s side rallied to earn a point at Goodison Park.

The Eagles, unbeaten since August, face West Ham at the weekend while the Toffees travel to Manchester City.
