Valencia held summer transfer talks with Liverpool and Chelsea before Crystal Palace signed Christian Benteke and Loic Remy, reports say.
Spanish outlet SuperDeporte claim Valencia, who finished 12th in La Liga last season, were monitoring the two forwards.
It is said the Spanish club were determined to bolster their attacking options over the summer and identified Belgium striker Benteke and Frenchman Remy as ideal signings.

But despite Valencia director Jesus Garcia Pitarch allegedly making contact with Liverpool and Chelsea, Crystal Palace completed deals to sign the duo.
Benteke, who has already scored three league goals this season and bagged a fine hat-trick for Belgium against Gibraltar on Monday, was a club-record £32.5m signing for the Eagles.
Meanwhile, former QPR star Remy, 29, sealed a season-long loan deal with Palace in August but has returned to Stamford Bridge for treatment after suffering an injury.
SuperDeporte also say Valencia were plotting a move for Celta de Vigo and Sweden striker John Guidetti.
