Six goals for Adam Coombes shot Welling United into the fourth qualifying round of the F.A. Cup with victory over Swindon Supermarine.

Unchanged from the team that started at Poole Town one week earlier, Welling looked to impose themselves quickly.

Early on Coombes slung in a cross that Connor Jones could only push out. Pierre Joseph-Dubois was first to the rebound but his goal-bound shot hit Ryan Wood on the chest and flew wide for a corner.

Lyle Della-Verde delivered and Rickie Hayles headed forward but nobody was able to apply the final touch.

There was then a warning for the Wings when Callum Parsons found Josh Parsons but his shot from the edge of the area was blocked out by Chris Lewington.

Mitchell Nelson then put in a teasing cross that Coombes reached at full stretch only to see his effort slip just beyond the far post.

They then had a claim for a penalty when Coombes was pulled back but he still got his shot away, which was deflected wide for a corner.

Connor Waldon then broke clear for the visitors but a heavy first touch allowed Lewington to gather without too much worry.

Another teasing Della-Verde cross was just out of the reach of Pierre Joseph-Dubois but they did not have long to wait before breaking the deadlock.

Ali Fuseini slid through a pass and only three of the back four had come out so Coombes had time to compose himself before slotting home.

Whilst that should have settled the Wings, they appeared to have turned off completely when Callum Parsons was given the freedom of the ground to fire home an equaliser, albeit with a slight deflection.

Dean Morgan curled wide after a clever flick by Joseph-Dubois gave him the room.

Waldon headed over from Bradley Gray's cross before Welling scored twice in three minutes to give themselves some breathing space.

Once again, Coombes profited from a ragged back four's wonky line and drew out Johns before placing inside the far post.

Then Johns came out for a Della-Verde high ball that he was never going to reach and Joseph-Dubois rose to head home.

Brad Hooper was unmarked from a Callum Parsons corner but headed wide from a long way out as the half drew to a close.

Dan Walker came on for the injured Joseph-Dubois at half time and Welling were soon on the attack again.

Morgan crossed behind Coombes but he tried an acrobatic effort that was saved by Johns.

A free kick then gave Morgan another chance but Johns was awake and saved at the near post.

Ryan Morgan crossed for Marine but Josh Parsons could not get a clean touch and it went wide.

Back at the other end Walker sprung the offside trap but fired wide before Callum Parsons got beyond the Welling back line only for Lewington to make a great save.

Good patient Welling football allowed Coombes another shooting chance but Johns produced a spectacular save to keep it out.

Danny Waldren then had a header tipped over from a Sam Hatton corner but the visitors' escape was short lived. Hatton's second corner was half cleared back to him and he took his time before picking out Coombes who headed home at the far post.

Brad Hooper fired over and Waldon headed wide for the visitors but Welling continued to search for more.

Once again Coombes was the man. He was bundled over in the box and stepped up to send Johns the wrong way.

Hatton fired wide after Johns half cleared then the visitors' custodian made a brilliant save from Walker.

Coombes made it six-one when firing home spectacularly from 25 yards.

However, he was not done and added his sixth three minutes later when finishing from Walker's through ball.

There was still time for Waldren to fire over and for Hatton to be thwarted by another fine save before the end.
