Having found goals hard to come by, Welling United visited Concord Rangers and overwhelmed their fellow strugglers.

Adam Coombes claimed a second half hat-trick that only lifted the Wings one place in the league but gave them a massive confidence boost ahead of their visit to Dartford on Tuesday night.

New signing Ali Fuseini fitted in immediately and looked like he had been part of the team all season.

Lyle Della-Verde was instrumental in most of the early action, first firing over after Jordon Brown opened up the Concord defence.

He then had an effort deflected wide after another good passing move.

His corner created the next opening but Sean Francis glanced his header wide.

Danny Waldren fired in a drive that flew back off Jay Dowie and both Coombes and Pierre Dubois-Joseph had shots blocked.

Steve Cawley had Concord's first effort but after his initial shot came back off the wall, his follow up flew high out of the ground.

Della-Verde broke the deadlock in the 26th minute with a cool finish after Coombes and Joseph-Dubois had opened up the defence.

Rob Girdlestone thought he had gifted Welling with a second when he sliced Coombes' through ball but was relieved to see it clear his own crossbar.

Cawley stabbed an effort wide for Concord just before the break but Welling went in the happier of the two teams.

There was no change to the run of play after the interval as Welling pressed for the all important second goal.

Dan Walker crossed but Commbes' header was saved by Ben McNamara.

McNamara was in action again shortly after when making a good save from Della-Verde following a flowing move involving Brown, Coombes and Walker.

It came as little surprise when Welling increased their lead. Walker found Della-Verde and his perfect through ball sent Dubois-Joseph away. He kept his composure to round McNamara before slotting home.

Seven minutes later, Welling added a third when Coombes broke free but was brought down by McNamara. Coombes took the spot kick himself and sent the keeper the wrong way.

Two further minutes had followed when Coombes added his second and Welling's fourth with Walker this time being the provider.

Francis was off target with another header from substitute Warren Whitely's cross.

Chris Lewington thwarted Cawley, Concord's most dangerous player, however Alex Akrofi should have done better following up, but smashed his shot against the crossbar.

Lewington made another good save, this time from Sam Collins before Coombes completed the scoring in the final minute.

Walker put in a cross that was only half cleared and Coombes fired home from the edge of the area via a slight deflection.
