Shaun Williams appears to have already settled Millwall’s goal of the season debate with a stunning strike from the halfway line against Nottingham Forest.
Trailing Championship side Forest with 15 minutes remaining, Williams won the ball in his own half, dribbled into the centre-circle and lobbed stopper Stephen Henderson from 50 yards out.
It was the 29-year-old’s second of the season after scoring in the victory over Sheffield United last weekend.
However, the sensational strike proved futile as Dutchman Lars Veldwijk netted three minutes from time to send Forest through to the EFL Cup third round.
Millwall return to League One action on Saturday with a trip to Chesterfield.
