Lee Gregory was forced off during Millwall’s victory over Sheffield United due to a tight hip, Neil Harris has confirmed.
The striker was seen holding his hip before eventually being removed in the second-half.
It is not the first time this season Gregory, 27, has been substituted because of the problem.
Harris said: “His hip-flexor was tight, we’re not sure really.
“You don’t come off in a game when you’re playing as well as he was unless there’s a problem there.
“He could have had a hat-trick before he came off. You get a penalty and you think ‘he’s our reliable one’.
“But when you need calmness and experience I was fortunate to have Steve Morison on the pitch as well.”
The game appeared to be heading for a draw after Stefan Scougall cancelled out Shaun Williams’ early strike at the Den.
But Millwall won a late penalty and Morison duly concerted to earn a last-gasp win.
“Steve is a top professional and a top guy in the dressing room,” Harris said. “All the guys look up to him and he’ll be one desperate to play come Tuesday.
“I think on chances we created we deserved it. The goal we conceded was disappointing again, it’s come from a cross but we deserved the win overall.”
Harris also said he was delighted for Williams, whose 14th-minute strike left Simon Moore helpless in the United goal.
“He’s got that ability. I expect goals from Shaun and Ben [Thompson] because they can both be clinical from outside the box.
“I was delighted for him because he’s had a great start to the season for us.”
