Crystal Palace could be beaten to the post by Premier League rivals Everton in the race to sign Newcastle United midfielder Moussa Sissoko.
The French newspaper L’Equipe has reported that the Toffees are set to open talks with the 27-year-old – who has also been attracting the attention of former Magpies boss Alan Pardew.
They have also reported that Inter Milan are hoping to hold talks with the French international.
Sissoko has been on the radar of the Eagles and Liverpool, as well as Real Madrid and Borussia Dortmund.
Whether Everton or Inter can match the Magpies’ 40m Euros price tag remains to be seen, and it is reported that Sissoko is holding out for a move to the Bernabeu.
Palace lost winger Yannick Bolasie to Everton last week for £25m, and they lost 1-0 at home to West Brom on the opening day of the Premier League season on Saturday.
They are back in action this weekend at Tottenham Hotspur.
