Lashings are returning to Bexley Cricket Club next month to take on the Leigh Academies Trust XI.

Bexley’s Manor Way will once again be hosting the event and former England star Owais Shah joined event organiser Kevin Brewer and match sponsors Central Hire and David Mewes Building Services to sign the match contract last month.

Last year’s spectacle saw the students secure their first ever win against the legendary Lashings All Stars.

This summer’s game will be held on Friday July 1 and Brewer said: “We are all really excited at the prospect of our tenth consecutive Lashings event.

“The names they bring to this occasion are truly incredible and it is such an honour to host them again for what promises to be another brilliant day.

“Following on from our victory last year, I suspect they will be coming at us all guns blazing this year.”

Lashings Chairman, David Folb, said: “It has been amazing to watch this event grow over the 10 years we have been involved – this game is one of the real highlights of our summer schedule.

“We will be bringing some global superstars to Bexley and we cannot wait to entertain the crowd with some fast bowling and big hitting.”

The match will be preceded by a charity lunch prepared by an award-winning chef.

There are still tables of 10 available to purchase and for more information contact John Grafik at the Leigh Academies Trust on 07803147062.
