Crystal Palace did everything in their power to avoid finishing bottom of the Premier League – and succeeded by a country mile.

However, they have finished bottom of one table – although this time round it is not a bad thing.

A survey by musicmagpie.co.uk has placed the Eagles at the foot of the table of the most expensive clubs to follow throughout the season.

According to the website’s stats, following the Eagles home and away costs a fan £1,560 – made up of £420 for the cheapest home season ticket, and £1,140 on the road.

The most expensive club to follow is Newcastle United – who were relegated to the Championship – at £3,150, followed by their Wearside rivals Sunderland at £3,131, and Bournemouth £3,095.
