Charlton’s dire season ended in dramatic fashion at the Valley today as supporters continue to vent their frustration at owner Roland Duchatelet.
Burnley were crowned champions with a 3-0 win over the Addicks, as goals from Sam Vokes, George Boyd and Andre Gray condemned already-relegated Charlton to another defeat.
Prior to the Championship fixture, several hundred supporters staged a sit-in protest in the Valley car park to prevent vehicles from entering the ground.
Both sets of fans invaded the pitch after the final whistle and gathered in front of the main stand to sing anti-Duchatelet chants.
In a symbolic gesture, some fans then placed their season tickets at the feet of Sam Bartram’s statue.
