Wilfried Zaha revealed he has not given up hope of getting into England’s Euro 2016 squad, insisting he could add a different dimension to the team.

Zaha opened up the Tottenham Hotspur defence on Sunday to lay the ball off for the overlapping Martin Kelly to score the only goal of the game, seeing Crystal Palace through to the FA Cup quarter-final.

After the game manager Alan Pardew suggested Zaha should be in the England squad, and the winger is equally confident he could display his attacking qualities at international level.

Asked what he would add to the current England set-up, Zaha said: “There’s pacey players, but just more skill really because I just take on people more.

“There’s good passers in the England team and there’s pace but I can beat a man which will open the space for someone else.

“I think I’ll add that to the team.”

Zaha was dropped from Palace's starting line-up after a poor showing in their 1-0 league defeat to Spurs in September, but responded well as a substitute against Watford at Vicarage Road, earning a penalty in a 1-0 win.

Since then the 23-year-old has gone from strength to strength and this time had the beating of Tottenham left-back Danny Rose for the cup tie.

“Everyone talks about ‘inconsistent Wilf’ so that’s my main thing firstly and if I manage to get into the England set-up I’ll be buzzing,” he added.

“It’s indescribable [to play for England].

“You get so much support wherever you go, you play with quality players as well so it’s like a dream really. Hopefully I can get back up there.

“I haven’t given up at all. Every game I’m just going to try and kick on and get back in there.”

Palace have had to rely on Zaha even more in recent fixtures with teammate Yannick Bolasie having been out injured since December.

Bolasie came on for the final 14 minutes of the Tottenham game, and Zaha is delighted to have another quick attacker back in the side.

“That helps me massively because there’s another threat on the other side,” he said.

“Yannick adds pace as well so I’m not just the out-ball, I’m just glad he’s back.

“I’ve tried to do what I can, I’m just buzzing that the players are coming back because we really need the wins.”

Pardew should be able to call on both Zaha and Bolasie when Palace travel to West Brom on Saturday.
