Dartford’s highly-rated midfielder Ebou Adams has sealed a deadline day move to Premier League club Norwich City.

The Dartford Academy graduate made his first-team debut for the non-league club against Macclesfield Town last April.

He featured in 15 games for the Darts in the National League South this season and has been tracked by a host of Championship and top flight clubs.

Adams’ performances have caught the attention of Norwich, who secured his services on an 18-month deal on January 1.

The young midfielder is expected to join Dmitri Halajko’s Development Squad at Carrow Road before hopefully being integrated to first-team training.

Adams, who was only in his debut season in senior football, said: “This is a dream come true for me, and I’ve worked hard to get here.

“I want to thank Jason Long, Deren Ibrahim and Tony Burman, as well as everyone at Dartford, for their help and support since I arrived at the club.

“They gave me the opportunity, and that gave me the chance to be spotted by Norwich.”

He added: “As a 15-year-old boy I never imagined I would have achieved what I have so far in my short career.

“It was a privilege to pull on the shirt for Dartford and experience first-team football – I’ll always be grateful for their help.

“Dartford is a great, well-run club from top to bottom and I hope we can climb back up the leader into the National League and maybe ever further.

“I will keep in contact with the club, be down to see you play whenever I can and always look out for the results.”

A pre-season friendly between the two clubs has been agreed as part of the deal, which is Dartford’s most illustrious transfer in their history.

A club statement said: “Ebou becomes the first player in the club’s history to sign for a Premier League side.

“We wish Ebou all the best and hope that this is the start of a fantastic career ahead of him.

“We hope to see Ebou return to Dartford for the friendly wearing the Canaries’ yellow and green.”
