Addicks head coach Guy Luzon admitted Bournemouth were deserved champions after today’s dominant 3-0 victory over his Charlton side at The Valley.

The Cherries took the lead on ten minutes, Yann Kermorgant finding Matt Ritchie whose angled first-time shot went in off the post.

And the advantage was quickly doubled two minutes later after ex-Addicks youngster made the most of some sloppy defending to burst into the box and fire past Stephen Henderson.

The game was made safe five minutes from the end by Ritchie, just as news filtered through Sheffield Wednesday had equalised at Watford to ensure Bournemouth secured the title.

Luzon said: “Bournemouth in my view is truly the best team in this league.

“They play great football, are quick, they attack the opposition with a lot of quality and with a lot of organisation and they deserve to be in the Premier League.

“We wish them all the success and I’m sure if they continue in this way they will have success also in the Premier League.

“On our side I will be honest and say they played better than us and we didn’t deserve to win this game.”

“It was a good lesson for us of how we need to play football and how we need to play quick to press the opponent.”
