Morgan takes the gold

TAN'GUN Taekwondo club achieved modest success at the British Taekwondo Control Board London Championships (BTCB).

There was a bronze for Joshua Neubronner, silver for Joshua Stringer and one very well deserved gold for Dominic Morgan.

The BTCB London Championships is a precursor to finding talent to fight for the Olympics in 2012.

Any Taekwondo club not part of the BTCB cannot put fighters forward to represent the UK in the 2012 events.

Out of the six though, it was certainly Dominic Morgan who stole the show.

He even knocked out one of his much taller opponents.

Tan'Gun Taekwondo's instructor, 3rd Dan David Carmichael, who smashed through multiple pine boards for a Celebrity Big Brother event on Channel 4 in January, said: "Dominic may well be the name on everyone's lips in the future.

"He has already done outstandingly well within the club, already winning the London Championships in February and amazed the BTCB's southern region assessor for the England Team with his raw natural ability."

He added: "At just 11-years-old, he will be sixteen by the time the Olympics comes to London, much more experienced, and a much more formidable fighter. We'll just be glad he's on our side."

Tan'Gun Taekwondo train every day except Saturday in Woolwich, Plumstead and Charlton.
