A GYMNAST star of the future is going to the Special World Games in China after raising £2,000.
Sarah Greenwood, 16, will compete as an artistic gymnast in Shanghai alongside 250 competitors from 160 countries.
The Istead teenager, who has learning disabilities and trains at the Flex Gym in Dartford, raised £1,166 with a disco and an anonymous fan donated the remainder to send her on the October trip of a lifetime.
Coach Paul Wood, who runs the Flex Gym, said: "It is the opportunity of a lifetime and the toughest competition our athletes will face, but it is much more than that.
"This is a chance for Special Olympics athletes to showcase their abilities and talents on a worldwide level, proving they deserve just as many accolades as other world-class athletes."
If you want to get involved with Flex Gym, which also caters far all gymnasts, call Paul on 020 7302 7750.
