Millwall FC will be paying tribute to the life of an inspirational Lions fan in the third annual "Jimmy's Day".

Jimmy Mizen, 16, was murdered in an unprovoked violent attack in Lee on May 10 2008.

Since then, Jimmy's family have devoted their lives to working for peace and reconciliation through the Jimmy Mizen Foundation.

On Saturday, Millwall and Fulham players will be escorted by a young person from the Millwall Community Trust who will all wear a Jimmy's Day t-shirt.

A statement from Jimmy's parents. Barry and Margaret Mizen, read: "We are always made to feel so welcome whenever we visit The Den.

"This year we decided to focus the day on our young people who are at the heart of The Jimmy Mizen Foundation; from volunteering or work experience in one of our cafes, to being part of our Fundraising Team or Young Citizens.

"We feel that Milwall have shown immense support and compassion to us as a family since Jimmy's death and this is our way of giving something back to the fans and everyone at the club."

No fund raising collection will take place on the day as Barry and Margaret believe Millwall fans have been massively generous already.

Millwall chairman, John Berylson, said: "Fortunately, most of us have never been in the situation of having to deal with the murder of a loved one, but I'm sure, like me, you have wondered just how you would react to such a tragic situation.

"In Barry and Margaret's case, they found the wherewithal not only to forgive the perpetrator, but also a way to create something positive out of the negative of Jimmy's death.

"I know Barry and Margaret's faith has been a great strength and support for them, and they, in turn, have been a tremendous inspiration for many of us."

Jimmy's Day takes place at The Lion's Den on Saturday, email questions@milwallplc.com for more information.
