Guy Luzon reiterated his desire to sign two new players after revealing his frustration at Rotherham’s injury-time equaliser in Saturday’s 1-1 draw.

The Israeli head coach, overseeing his first home game in charge, appeared on the verge of leading Charlton to a first victory since November 8 when Jordan Cousins gave them the lead from close range with 83 minutes played.

Thirty seconds into stoppage time, however, Rotherham substitute Danny Ward secured an equaliser from directly in front of goal to leave Charlton at risk of joining another battle against relegation and leading Luzon to concede his side's poor form has left them lacking belief.

“After two months without three points of course we are lacking a little confidence,” Luzon said.

“After we score the goal, it’s very important we need to keep the clean sheet. We are frustrated.

“Of course we are disappointed. But it (the late equaliser) is part of the game.

“After two months without any win we go too low. The last few minutes we have a chance to score.

“We organise well until the last minute. The last five, seven minutes, they had chances to score that they don’t have all the game.

“When we lead games, we need to be in a (winning) position and don’t go too low.

“The last two games we organise well in defence. We knew that the opponents play a lot of long ball.

“In attack we need to be more efficient and create more chances to score.”

Before the arrival of Christophe Lepoint, Luzon had spoken of wanting to recruit “two or three” new players and he again insisted that target remains.

Lepoint made his debut as a substitute to assist for Cousins’ goal but he looked as disorganised as he did off the pace, suggesting – even at this early stage – that he is incapable of making the required impact.

“I hope we will recruit another two players, but we will see at the time,” Luzon added.

“In football until it is done it is nothing. I don’t know how close (those signings are) but I hope we will do it.”
