Ian Holloway has targeted finishing higher than last season's 19th place.
Holloway last year inspired Millwall to safety when they were threatened by relegation and is confident he can do so even more convincingly this time around.
"We managed to do it at the end of last year but let's try and finish higher this time," he told the club's offical website.
"I'm even more committed to it and I know the lads are too.
"Things can only get better from here on in and they need to because it hasn't been good enough.
"(Nottingham Forest) is the first of 19 cup finals. We will be working on shape, togetherness and understanding of difference situations that occur in a game.
"If the fans see the effort and commitment that their team gave them the other evening then they will be very proud."
