Sid Nelson has revealed what was behind his clash with Ipswich’s Noel Hunt.
The young defender captained Millwall in Saturday’s 3-1 defeat, in only his fourth senior appearance at the club.
"In my eyes he was taking a few liberties," Nelson said.
"They were 2-1 up so he was trying to take as much time as he could. I tried to push him off and he got a bit lemon, but that was about it.
"I just played my normal game because my best attribute is trying to be a leader. Having the armband reminded me to keep talking and organising.
"It's not even been a month since my first start but when you're a footballer you've got to be ready for what comes. Anything can come at you as a young pro.
"You never know what will happen next – next week I might be back in the U21s or I'll be playing for the first team again. I'll take thing stride by stride."
