Millwall captain Alan Dunne says there will be no room for sentiment this weekend when former manager Kenny Jackett returns to The Den with Wolves.

Jackett transformed the Lions from League One strugglers to Championship regulars during his five-and-a-half-year spell in charge at The Den.

Dunne was there throughout that time and although happy to say hello before kick-off, the veteran defender will be solely focussed on making sure Millwall pick up their first win since August 30.

The skipper told Lions Player: “I’m looking forward to welcoming Kenny back.

“He was great for the club the time he was here. He did a lot for us and he did a lot for myself.

“I think he will get a warm welcome but as soon as the whistle goes I think from then onwards hopefully it won’t be as nice as the welcome.

“It will be about us trying to beat them and doing everything we can to intimidate them and disrupting their game, because they are a decent side in this division and are doing really well this year.

“I will shake Kenny’s hand, and David Forde will shake his hand, but once the whistle goes we will want to beat his side and he will want to do the same to us.”

Dunne added: “There isn’t much sentiment in football, people come in and out of your life all of your career.

“You make friends and they come in and out and that is part of football.

“We are just looking forward to the game. It is a massive game for us.

“The international break last time sort of broke our momentum up a little bit where this time it might do us a favour because we’ve got more time to work on things and improve on what has been a poor month for us.”
