Paddy McCarthy could soon be going out on loan despite only signing a new one-year contract extension at Crystal Palace.
The experienced 31-year-old defender has only played in the League Cup so far this season and with the Eagles now out of that competition, manager Neil Warncok explained why the Dubliner might be leaving the club on a temporary basis.
“The problem is you can only have seven substitutes and I like my forwards.
“Paddy is like everybody else, he is very important to the club and I think the club recognises that. That’s why they gave him a new contract.
“But if I think he needs games there is one or two clubs who have asked me about him as well.
“I’ll decide over the next week whether to let him go out on loan for a few games.”
