Bob Peeters admitted his frustration after Charlton missed out on Wigan-bound striker target Andy Delort.

The Addicks had been keen to bring in the highly-rated forward from Tours but are set to miss out after the Latics saw off competition from them and Championship rivals Wolves to finally bag the player.

Delort was presented on the pitch at the DW Stadium in Wigan today ahead of his likely move to Uwe Rosler’s side and Peeters is saddened not to have brought him to The Valley.

The SE7 chief said: “I’m disappointed as he was an interesting player but he decides where he wants to play.

“I don’t wish him good luck because he is an opponent.

“But we need to continue and push on and prove that we have good strikers as well.”

Charlton announced the signing of Frederic Bulot this morning, but Peeters kept his cards close to his chest regarding further additions before the transfer window closes on Monday evening.

“You should never say never, but we need to give credit to the squad we have.

“If we sign another player, he needs to be a good player-we won’t add players to the squad just to add players.”
