Speculation has been growing in the past hour Malky Mackay is not going to become the new manager of Crystal Palace after all.
It was widely reported yesterday the former Cardiff City boss had won the race to succeed Tony Pulis in the SE25 hotseat.
However, this teatime Sky Sports claimed Palace’s search for a new manager remains ongoing with Mackay now seemingly set to miss out on landing the role.
Having suspended betting yesterday, bookies have already reopened the book with Tim Sherwood installed as the even money favourite with Bet365 ahead of Martin Jol (7-2).
Mackay (5-1) is their third best priced candidate but it looks like you had better keep your money in the wallet rather than take that price after today’s latest dramatic development.
