The Championship season starts on Saturday with Charlton and Millwall fans inevitably feeling in optimistic mood ahead of the new campaign.

But which of our two sides will finish higher up the table?

One Addicks fan has already confidently predicted his team will win the south east London bragging rights by promising to eat a copy of News Shopper if Charlton finish below the Lions next May.

Don't worry, we aren't asking anyone to commit to that apart from Vincent, just click below to decide who will end up looking down at their rivals.

Charlton head into this weekend’s opening game at Brentford under new management following the summer appointment of Bob Peeters.

There have been plenty of changes on the pitch as well with eight new signings – and possibly still more to come - to replace a host of departures from last year’s squad.

The Valley surface has finally been transformed after years of under investment from the club’s previous owners and the feel-good factor appears to have returned to SE7 for the first time since winning promotion from League One in 2012.

Millwall, meanwhile, are also in bullish mood after an eight-game unbeaten run towards the end of last season ensured they beat the drop after seemingly looking doomed in late March.

This will be Ian Holloway's first full year in charge at The Den.

The manager has already guided Blackpool and Crystal Palace into the Premier League via the play-offs and will be aiming to put that experience to good use by inspiring a challenge at the right end of the table.

Millwall have also been busy in the transfer market by drafting in half a dozen new signings, five of them for no fee.

The Lions start at home to Leeds this Saturday, a side they have a good recent record against at The Den.
