Moto Cross returns to the Canada Heights circuit on Sunday for round four of the Maxxis British Championships.
Swanley boasts one of the top Motocross circuits in the country where later this month the finest riders from the UK and Europe will be competing in what is recognised as the best domestic Motocross series in the world.
The British Championship is recognised as one of the most competitive domestic Moto Cross contests in the sport and has paved the way for world champions in the past.
The Swanley stage of the competition has earned a good reputation over the years as being one of the best rounds of the UK series.
Once again News Shopper will be supporting this weekend’s round at Canada Heights, which is organised by Sidcup & District Motorcycle Club.
You can start the day with a free paddock walkabout where you can meet the riders, get autographs, watch mechanics preparing for the day’s racing, see the bikes checked over in the official testing areas, pick up posters and stickers and soak up the electric atmosphere.
The first Championship race is at 12.55pm with the event finishing just after 5pm.
It is a great adrenalin rush to witness the bravery of the competitors jumping to great heights over the hilly course while soaking up the atmosphere as the very best riders in the country battle for honours.
The raw excitement of this sport is a shock to the system as the tension of 40 bikes on the start line and the crazy first corner charge must be seen to be believed.
Canada Heights’ chestnut fenced circuit lets you get so close to the action you can almost feel it through your boots.

It has a huge following of fans who follow the championship around the UK, something which is testament to the teams and riders who push themselves and their bikes to the limit.
Televised by Sky Sports, the Maxxis British Motocross Championship caters for the MX1 class for bigger bikes, and the MX2 is the smaller class.
The elite MX1 class sees the KTM pairing of Shaun Simpson and Jake Nicholls locked in combat, while current MX2 champion Elliott Banks-Browne, who has stepped up to MX1, and fans’ favourite Brad Anderson fly the Honda flag.
Defending MX1 champion Kristian Whatley will be hoping he can regain his confidence and form at Canada Heights after a slow start to the campaign to kick-start his bid to retain his coveted title.
The MX2 Class features Mel Pocock, Latvian Matiss Karro, rising star Adam Sterry, Neville Bradshaw, Bryan MacKenzie Stephen Clarke and Steven Lenoir.
As well as the racing, there is plenty to keep the family entertained including a beer tent, an extensive shopping village, lots of children’s entertainment and bouncy castles.
Family tickets cost £45 (two adults, two children), adult admission is £20, concessions £15 and children £5.
Parking is free.
