Ian Holloway has revealed Stefan Maierhofer is fit for tomorrow’s vital home game against Bo>rnemouth.

The Lions face a nervy afternoon knowing a win will guarantee them safety and a fifth straight season in the second of English football.

And the good news is Maierhofer trained without any issues on Thursday morning after his availability was initially thrown into doubt by a back and hamstring problem.

Holloway confirmed: “Only Lee Martin is out.

“Stefan Maierhofer trained on Thursday morning and there was no problem.

“Richard Chaplow is fit in training but he hasn't played any games, so that’s a big ask.

“They group have been training fine.

“I have to say yesterday morning was the best they’ve been since I've been here.

“Both teams I picked we're tremendous.

“It finished 1-1, it was totally different to the 6-0 from a few weeks back.”

Millwall know three points against the Cherries will keep them up but the manager admits he will have to keep tabs on the scores coming in from other games.

Doncaster visit league champions Leicester while Birmingham are away to Bolton, but Ollie accepts his side must focus on their own game and not be too caught up in what others are doing.

Holloway said: “I’m going to have to keep an eye on it somewhere along the line.

“If Doncaster and Birmingham are both losing 6-0 I’ll be a lot happier, but I don't think they will be.

“We’re going to try and win.

“If we’re one behind and they're drawing and they've finished it might be different.”

He added: “We’ve got to go out and try to win because in every second of those games in the Championship, Birmingham or Doncaster can suddenly baet their opponents, end of story.

“You never know what’s going to happen and we're trying to win.

“What I'm trying to do is be focused.

“My job is just trying to beat Bournemouth.

“I won’t be going gung ho as it doesn’t suit us.

“We need to be controlled and get the structure right and defend off wherever we put the ball because the lads are concentrating on that.”

The injury to Martin last weekend at QPR has left the Lions boss with a selection dilemma which will force his only change to the side which picked up that vital point at Loftus Road.

“I am a bit upset Lee Martin’s out,” admitted Holloway.

“He was paying out of his skin and it was blooming well suited to the balance we had with the big one - Lee, who can run like the wind, and Wooly, who can cut inside, float and dribble.

“With Steve Morison on the pitch we will have to think about where we put it.

“Hopefully we’ve had a good look at that.

“I can’t deal with anything or anybody else, just us.

“The more I'm looking at other results, the more I’m taking my eye off of Millwall.

“If you’re a golfer and you're trying to hit a golf ball by half looking away, you’ve got no chance of making contact with it, let alone it going where you need to.

“So what we have to do is focus.

“Everybody else can look at these games, everyone else can worry about someone else but I can’t.”
