Dartford Judo Club members have been busy bringing home the medals recently.

At the London open championships, Tomas Gogh took gold (U100kg) by defeating his opponents with ease.

Richard Plasek made it to the U81kg final of and after a close fight earned well-deserved silver.

Plasek went one better at the Kent Kyu open, where he enjoyed gold medal success along with fellow Dartford JC fighters Charlie Whittaker and William Bolton.

Chris Ball and Alex Kane secured silvers at the same competition.

There were a trio of silvers at the southern area green belt and under championships for William Bellow, Andrew Kennard and Ben Webb.

Dartford unveiled several young debutants at the NHC red belt rumble in High Wycombe, where Gerda Bajournaite landed gold.

Mateusz Symanski, Ashleigh Jefferies and Jude Jeffries claimed silver, with bronzes going to Josh Watson, Jack Payne, Daya Sehota and Dominic Zakarevicius.

An 18-strong contingent of the club’s youngest members were in action at the Beechwood classmaster event, many for the very first time, where Dartford finished the day as the most successful club.

Gold - Liam Byrne, Ben Jarrett, Daya Sehota, Theo Lancaster, Josh Watson, Jack Payne, Charlie Jinks, William Bellow, Dominic Zakarevicius, Oliver Condon and Thomas O’Toole.

Silver - Lacey Hergest, Tehya Lewis-Tufts and Josh Mould.

Bronze - Gerda Bajournaite, Raphaella Lancaster, Jay Redding, Oscar Hudson and Theeran Moonessamy.

Dartford JC played host to the Kent closed championships, finishing top of the medal tables with the best medal performance of any club in the most competitive turnout for the annual event in years.

In the seniors Gold was won by Gogh with bronzes secured by Egidijus Zakarevicius and Plasek.

The junior competition was open to any age and grade and many of Dartford’s entrants were under 10 and fighting in the lowest grades.

Gold - Ben Webb, Kennard, Dominic Zakarevicius, Sehota and Jefferies.

Silver: Ioulia Kasipidis, Szymanski and Callum Monaghan.

This weekend Dartford Judo Club will be hosting the annual southern area inter-counties team championships where teams from Kent, Sussex, Surrey and Hampshire will battle it out on the mat.
