Undefeated Penge welterweight Bradley ‘Super’ Skeete is looking forward to putting on a show when he defends his WBA intercontinental title against the experienced Italian Tobia Giuseppe Loriga on Saturday.

The Penge hitman claimed the WBA intercontinental welterweight crown with a unanimous decision in his last outing at the Copper Box against Christopher Sebire and said he is going to do everything he can to hold on to it.

“If anything I am more motivated to be defending my title,” explained Skeete.

“When I fought for the title it was vacant, so it was anyone’s.

“But now it is mine and I don’t want anyone else to have it, so I am very motivated to make sure no one takes it off me.

“I’ll be giving it my all on Saturday to make sure of that.”

As well as holding the WBA intercontinental title, Skeete is also the current English welterweight champion and the 26-year-old is quickly rising through the European welterweight scene.

In his way at the Copper Box on Saturday is 37-year-old Loriga, who boasts an impressive 27 victories from his 32 professional bouts, and Skeete is fully aware of the danger the Italian will pose.

The Penge ace said: “I’ve seen bits of him on Youtube and he looks very tough and durable.

“I know he’s been in the ring with Chavez Jnr, so he’s mixed it with good company in the past.

“He proved he is tough and game against Chavez Jnr but I’m definitely looking forward to the challenge.”

Undefeated in his 15 professional fights to date, Skeete feels the increased recent interest in his fighting career has given him a massive boost.

He said: “The support has been great. It is growing all the time and with each fight there seems to be more supporters cheering me on.

“It is good to get the local support.

“I’m definitely getting recognised a lot more walking around local areas, so that is great for me.”

Skeete added: “I didn’t get the chance to go to the Olympics and watch any of it, so to be in the Olympic Park and to box at one of the London 2012 arenas is great.

“The atmosphere is great at the Copper Box and I’m looking forward to putting on a good show for the fans.”

Skeete trains at the Ibox Gym in Bromley under the guidance of professional trainers Al Smith, Eddie Lam and Nik Sivyer and said he is happy with the way training has gone in the build up to the fight.

“I’m feeling good, I’m ready now and I’m confident that on Saturday I’m going to keep my title and keep moving on to bigger and better things.”
