Ollie not using injuries as excuse for Millwall's problems
Former boss Steve Lomas was unable to field a consistent settled side and in recent weeks the Lions have had the likes of Danny Shittu, Nicky Bailey, Lee Martin, Scott Malone and Richard Chaplow all out injured.
But Ollie is determined to get on with the job and not offer injuries as a reason why the club are where they are in the table as he looks to try and keep Millwall in the Championship.
The manager said: “The problem is what the problem is.
“The end of last season, there was a problem.
“Now we’re facing that same issue. We’re in the Championship and we can’t win games so we’ve got to start doing that now.
“We’ve got seven games left so it’s not over.”
Ollie added: “At the end of the day, if you are left with an imbalance with the squad like we have been, it has been a bit difficult.
“With a change in luck and maybe personnel with one or two coming back - Jermaine Easter, Lee Martin and Bailey - that might help.”
Defender Shittu has been out since Millwall’s last win, a 1-0 victory away to promotion-chasing Derby on March 8, and Holloway admits the absence of his physical skipper has been a blow.
He said: “The big loss has been Danny Shittu, I believe.
“In the last three games we’ve let a couple of goals in again and lost a few headers.
“It’s so simple.
“If you look at that Champions League game from Tuesday night, for all Bayern Munich’s wonderful football they let a header in from a corner. That’s what happens.
“Injuries will come and go.”
