Crayford’s Lewis Pettitt will face big-hitting Brazilian Emerson Santos Carvalho on the multi-title extravaganza at the Copper Box Arena on April 12.

Pettitt goes for the vacant WBA international super-bantamweight title as he looks to make a mark in the talent packed 122lbs division.

Carvalho, from Sao Paulo, comes with TNT packed in his fists. The 30-year-old has won 10 out of his 12 wins by knockout inside three rounds, with four losses and a draw.

Pettitt is expecting the hardest fight of his career and is prepared to go into the trenches to win.

The Crayford star said: “Carvalho looks a right tough lot and he’ll bring me up to my best.

“He can definitely bang with almost all his wins coming by knockout and he’s mixed with some decent opponents, one of them is Juan Carlos Reveco who is now the WBA world flyweight champion.

“It’s a very hard and risky fight but I know I need to beat these kind of fighters as I move up the international rankings and the opponents get better and harder.

“I’ve got no worries standing toe-to-toe with him and fighting it out if it comes down to it, I’m prepared for that.”

He added: “Although he’s a big puncher, he has been stopped a few times and is vulnerable.

“My trainer Alan Smith has seen him and is confident with the plan we have to beat him so I don’t get involved in a brawl, but we’re fighters and once that bell goes.

“The super-bantamweight division, domestically and internationally, is stacked with big name fighters and it’s down to me to perform to my best and show I’m coming through and will be a threat to the established names.”
