GYMNASTICS: There was plenty of medal success for members of the Gravesend-based Meapa Club at the women’s artistic grade championships in Guildford.

The very best gymnasts of all ages from Kent, Surrey and Sussex met up to take part in this highly prestigious and very demanding annual event.

Successful Meapa medal winners were: Faith Wilks (gold), Maddie Roberts (silver), with Eve Hudson, Marnie Taylor, Amy Lockey and Morgan Jolley all winning bronze. Hudson and Taylor also received golds for their outstanding performances in the specialised range and conditioning discipline.

The winning Meapa gymnasts will now travel to May’s national finals in Birmingham.

RUGBY: Old Colfeians turned on the style to overpower Warlingham 40-15 in Saturday’s London & South East Division Two clash at Horn Park.

Both forwards and backs contributed to an outstanding display, which takes the Lee side well clear of the relegation zone.

OCs ran in five tries from Jack Stamp, Ed Livett, Ben Forteath, Charlie Clay and James Oddy.

Man of the match Livett was on terrific kicking form, in a high and swirling wind, with three conversions and three penalties.

LONDON YOUTH GAMES: Lewisham will be looking to defend their London Youth Games ParaGames Boccia title after from the qualifying round at Redbridge Leisure Centre.

The 2013 champions were in impressive form as the team from Brent Knoll School eased to a 6-0 win over Enfield in the quarter-finals to clinch their place in the final four of the Paralympic sport at Crystal Palace on 2 April.

They were joined from the same qualifier by last year’s bronze medallists Bexley, represented by Cleeve Park School, who came through a tight last eight tie against Camden 2-1.

RUGBY: Shooters Hill’s relegation fears deepened when they were beaten 24-7 by Kings College Hospital.

The result means they now have to win two of their remaining three matches to stay up.

AWARDS: Nominations are being sought for this year’s London awards for sport and physical activity.

The honours are the capital’s only community sport awards and offer the chance to recognise the people that make it possible for Londoners to stay active and replicate their sporting heroes.

RUGBY: Bickley Park School’s first team travelled to Peterborough to compete in the IAPS Schools’ sevens tournament.

Featuring schools as far apart as Jersey and Cumbria, this was truly a national competition.

Bickley Park saved their best rugby for late in the day and were comprehensive winners of the bowl competition with a 36-0 victory over Gayhurst School (Bucks) in the final.

RUGBY: Beccehamians U14s have defied the odds this season in more ways than one after their Sparrows Den ground was flooded by five foot of water.

The youngsters have had to beg, borrow and make do with any piece of dry grass they could find to train on.

But their endeavours have been rewarded with plenty of success on the pitch, winning all 14 games and collecting the Met Kent Cup and Kent Cup after knocking out three-time champions Tonbridge Juddians.

Head coach Jim Clarke said: “What we lacked in training space the boys more than made up in heart, commitment and team spirit.”
