OSEI Sankofa's appeal against his red card shown during the 4-0 defeat at Arsenal has been rejected.
The young defender was also given a further one-match ban because the FA disciplinary committee deemed his appeal as frivolous.
Charlton had pleaded for wrongful dismissal, claiming Robin van Persie was in an offside position when he was tugged back by Sankofa.
Sankofa, 21, will miss Charlton's next two matches against Nottingham Forest in the FA Cup and the important relegation battle against Middlesbrough.
