A pair of fighters from Keddles gym in St Mary Cray will take to the ring as part of Team Tieu’s Super MTC (Muay Thai Championship) at Koko in Camden on March 16.

Grace Spicer, 22, and Rory Crawford, 26, both from Orpington, are part of an action packed bill at the north London venue.

On her upcoming bout against Sarah Chaz, Spicer said: “I’m feeling fit and training is going well so I’m pretty confident.

“It’s a big fight for me.

“I’m fighting a strong girl, she’s currently ranked eighth and I’m ranked seventh so it should be a good fight and I really need to beat her.

Although she is focussed on the upcoming fight, Spicer admitted she has loftier ambitions.

“I want to fight the girls at the top and then eventually go for European and World titles,” she added.

Crawford spoke to News Shopper about his preparation ahead of the big night.

He said: “I’m feeling good, I’ve just come back from Holland where I was training at Vos Gym in Amsterdam.

“That was brilliant training, it’s good to mix with different people and K1 was born in Holland so it was good to go out there.

“I fight both Muay Thai and K1, the fight at Koko is a K1 fight so it was important for me to get some good training in.

“I’ve got fights planned for April and June so I’ll try and go back out to Holland in between and then maybe head over to Thailand before the end of the year.”

On the growing popularity of the sport, Crawford added: “I think Muay Thai and K1 are definitely getting more popular in the area.

“The growing interest in MMA is definitely helping to promote stand-up fighting.” For more information on Keddles Gym, visit keddlesgym.co.uk
