Addicks columnist MATIAS GREZ is still on cloud nine after back-to-back wins over QPR in the Championship and Sheffield Wednesday in the FA Cup.

What a difference a weekend makes.

After possibly the most gutting defeat of the season away at Wigan, and the most gutless at home against Birmingham, Chris Powell and his men have yet again managed to find a way to begin to turn things around.

A last minute Johnnie Jackson winner at home to QPR, which provided the home fans and players with an unbridled joy that had not been seen in SE7 since promotion, could prove to be the catalyst which rejuvenates our season.

It has already had a telling effect, as it galvanised the team to an incredibly spirited and dogged performance at Hillsborough to send us through to a first FA Cup quarter-final since 2006.

Monday’s victory against Sheffield Wednesday provided the travelling fans with a night of football they will never forget, and made the 11-hour round coach journey more than worthwhile.

Not only that, it gave the players and Powell a night they will not forget in a hurry – or at least it looked like that.

The extended celebrations, the swinging from a crossbar and the sheer delight on every single one of their faces showed exactly how much this victory meant to them.

After beating Premier League Aston Villa and, probably more impressively, Nottingham Forest, Chris Powell, the players and us as fans will be taking absolutely nothing for granted against Sheffield United.

A daunting trip away to Leicester is still to be negotiated before we can fully set our focus on beating the other half of the Steel City, with the Foxes eight points clear at the top of the table and suffering just one home defeat all season.

However, if there is one team which can cause an upset against Leicester it is Charlton Athletic.

An undefeated league record against the Foxes, which stretches all the way back to April 2001 when both teams were in the Premier League, stands in the way of Leicester continuing their current 13-game unbeaten run in the Championship.

We may have lost the former Fox Yann Kermorgant, who fired us to three successive victories over the Midlands club, but there is a new former Leicester player in town.

If Astrit Ajdarevic could score against his former employers, it really would provide the icing on the cake for what has been an extraordinary week.
