LIONS chief Ian Holloway has challenged his out of contract stars to prove why they deserve to stay at The Den.

Millwall have a plethora of first-team players who can move on as free agents in the summer and Holloway feels if they do not show why they merit a new deal then he will look elsewhere.

“For me it’s about maximising your assets,” he said.

“It depends on the reaction they give me, how bad they want to play for us and how committed they are to that.

“I've not no issues with anyone, providing they do what I ask them to do.

“If they want to do that, they might have a future here and if they don’t, they can go.”

Holloway mentioned that Liam Feeney was one of the out of contract players who is looking to earn a new deal.

The boss said: “I’ve had a chat with Liam Feeney and he wants a better deal form us but he wants to show me he is worthy of one.

“He likes what I want to do so I’ve got no issue with that.”

Ollie also admitted some of his young Lions could be loaned out, but hasn’t ruled out some of them featuring for the first team in the near future.

“I might loan some out,” he said.

“I quite like the look of some of those young boys.

“They might get a chance very quickly if I fail to get anything. They won 2-0 the other week against my other first team squad, they outplayed them at the time.

“I’ve still got my eye on that really.”
